NEW BOWS PREVIEW 2012 Bear Bear Last year it was Carnage this year its pure Anarchy In response to customer demands for a more forgiving longer riser bow the designers at Bear produced the Anarchy with an axle to axle length of 35 inches and a generous 7 inch brace height At 38 pounds its surprisingly light for its length Aside from a length that sets it apart from previous Bear compounds the most distinctive feature on the Anarchy is the new Flat Top single cam which promises a smoother draw cycle despite the impressive 340 fps IBO speed Having had an opportunity to shoot this bow and test it we can con rm subjectively and objectively that it does indeed have a smooth draw cycle The grip is another new feature on this bow and comes in two options a side plate version for those preferring very narrow grips and an overmolded version for those who prefer a grip that is a little softer not to mention the Anarchy offers 80 percent letoff comes in draw lengths from 25 to 315 inches in modular speci c half inch increments and draw weights of 50 60 and 70 pounds Its available in Realtree APG or Shadow Series nishes and retails for about 900 Think of the 2012 Bear Legion as the new incarnation of the Strike The Legion is compact at 30 inches axle to axle and still light at 4 pounds even The biggest difference pact is doubtless the updated cam similar to that of the Strike but smoother while generating higher speeds 318 fps IBO to be precise The torque reducing grip is new as well and the Strikes original string suppressors have been replaced by Bears distinctive Dual Arc String Suppressors The brace height is a comfortable 7 inches Available draw weights are 50 60 and 70 pounds draw lengths range from 25 to 31 inches and letoff is 80 percent Another impressive feature is the price the Legion carries a suggested retail of less than 400 BEAR Legion 82 archeryBUSINESS January February 2012 BEAR Anarchy
